Musings......
Yesterday as I sat glued to the TV channels with anticipation, like most of you late into the night, a sudden thought occurred to me.
The invisibility of Modi- Shah duo is just an exaggeration. The whole government machinery of the Centre and the State could not prevent a famous win for the Congress Party in Gujarat. It seems The Modi-Shah dream of a Congress Mukth Gujarat is not set to happen anytime soon, let alone a Congress Mukth Bharat.

I came across our PMs speech today in Special Session of Parliament on Quit India Commemoration, and it seemed surprisingly weak. Undermining the contributions of Gandhiji and Nehru in the freedom struggle and selective amnesia on the role the RSS played won't take the BJP much far I guess.
In contrast, Sonia Gandhijis speech in Parliament stood apart in its content and message. That speech had class, it had a vision and was all inclusive on the idea that is India. Her speech would go a long way in strengthening the secular forces of India.

To evaluate this government which is into its third year, it has had a dismal performance on the economy with devastating consequences of demonetisation, a failing farm sector and never before seen deteriorating situation at the borders.
With a caretaker Defence Minister who is more interested in visiting Kerala for political mileage than Jammu and Kashmir where India is losing the game, the situation at our borders is set to worsen.

Our opposition needs to rise to the occasion at this critical juncture and fare better. The popular mood is pro-government and surprisingly many youth believe that Modiji can change the course of India.
The social media campaign and electronic media has played a huge role in this I guess.
A stronger opposition is the need of the hour, and hopefully with Ahmed Pateljis win a rejuvenated Congress  party can up the ante and contribute better to expose the fallacies and misgivings of this Government and take the role of the main Opposition keeping in mind the 2019 General Elections.

Let's hope that Secular forces triumph against Communal and anarchic ones who knows only the language of threats, corruption and who have no reservations in undermining the Constitution of this country.
Food for thought.........
