Musings.......
I was in New Delhi the day that Nirbhaya was brutally raped and murdered on a moving bus. I was in New Delhi when men and womenfolk from all strata of society took to the streets in disgust and anger.  Media had a field day or should I say “field month” with every minutest details of the incident being printed or played on television.  There were long processions and long marches towards India Gate - with and without candles.  The drama continued as the victim was flown to Singapore and the dead body flown back.  There followed political slugfest. The year was 2012 if I remember correctly.
Now wait a minute folks.......does this all seem familiar.
Yes it does.  The only difference being then  it was Nirbhaya and now it is Asifa. Cold blooded, cruel murder of an innocent 8 year old - raped and fed on.  Can u even come to imagine it.  What sort of animals can do that?
Now again the media has a field day- which might as well go into months by the look of it. A political slugfest over it has started with religion also coming up in discussions.
You want more, we’ll take it - Processions in support of the rapists holding the Indian flag by people’s representatives, and lawyers.
Marches to India Gate, candle duly at hand. It’s all happening here.
History is repeating itself, however what one forgets is who is at a loss.  The victim and her family.  Last heard the victims family, belonging to a nomadic tribe of J and K, has fled town to some distant place of higher altitude.
Their ghastly loss is permanent, irreplaceable and no amount of monetary benefits or consolation can replace it.
This is 2018. Mark the date folks as you may see the same cycle repeat itself again and again in your lifetime.
Let the human attitude change is the only words I am able to type here.

PS- I deliberately avoided mentioning Unnao rape case here and its culprit so that at least my post is apolitical.  Though the culprits smug arrogant smile on TV cameras will never leave my mind.
Food for thought.......Musings.......
